Defender Rio Ferdinand has spoken of his joy of being back in action for The Red Devils after suffering a grueling 8 months out with a drugs ban. Ferdinand returned to action yesterday night, starring in United's 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Liverpool.

spoken of his joy of being back in action for The Red Devils after
suffering a grueling 8 months out with a drugs ban.
Ferdinand returned to action yesterday night, starring in United's 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford. "The fans were fantastic, as soon as I came out for the warm-up and until the last minute. It was just nice to get out there and play. It was all about football" said the centre-half. He added: "It's never going to be easy. It's all new again. Eight months out is a long time. It was nice to get out there, defending again." The £30 million former Leeds United man is now tipped to start for England again in their World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Azerbaijan next month.
