Ferguson 'Excited' By Rooney Debut

England international Rooney, who was signed for £30 million from Everton, has been rated at 50/50 to start in the midweek Champions League clash with Fenerbahce at Old Trafford by Ferguson.

"It is very exciting. He definitely has a chance of playing on Tuesday and it is a toss of the coin whether he will be on the bench or he will start the game." admitted the Scotsman.

"All the players wanted him to play at Tottenham but we wanted to give him a really good bit of training in order that he does not break down." 

"We left him to train really hard on Friday and then we can make a decision on Monday," he added.

Rooney has stepped up training, completing his first full session with his team-mates last week since his he suffered a broken toe in Euro 2004.
