United Paired with Chelsea

Manchester United have been drawn with Premiership league leaders Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup, whilst Liverpool will face Championship side Watford.

United's second-string progressed into the latter stage of the cup following their 1-0 victory over a youthful Arsenal side. David Bellion struck just 20 seconds into the game to seal the win.

Sir Alex Ferguson is happy with the performance, commenting: "We got a good start and played very well in the first half but were complacent in the second half"

"But now we're in the semi-finals and one step away from Cardiff"

"In these types of games the important thing is to win - but we wasted a lot of great opportunities to finish it all" he added.
