Fenerbahce v. Manchester United - Match Preview

Manchester United go into tomorrow's Champions League Group Stage finale against Fenerbahce with no-pressure what-so-ever, knowing full-well they've qualified for the newly installed Knock Out Stages.

A mixture of fringe and youth will take centre stage in Turkey tomorrow, exposed Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and will give it their all to try to prove their worth and potential to the United faithful.

Ahead of the game, Ferguson commented: "It's not my recognised first team but there will be nine internationals in my starting line-up, we will be trying to win,"

"December is busy. I have 25 players and I must give them match practice. We're hoping for a good display from a young team."

The Scotsman continued: "It is important for our own professional pride to try and win on Wednesday but we won't know whether finishing first or second is an advantage until we get the draw."

"The main thing is the players on this trip show their potential and prove they are worthy of playing for Manchester United."

Wayne Rooney made his debut when the last time the two clubs met, netting a superb hat-trick in his side's 6-2 hammering of the Turks.

It's mathematically impossible for Fenerbahce to qualify following the early dent performed by United and will most likely claim  consolation UEFA Cup spot.

Holland international Pierre van Hooijdonk, Kemal Aslan and Deniz Baris whilst United's Holland international striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is also missing, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed. "Ruud has this injury at the bottom of his calf and it is proving troublesome. We felt we had to leave him out against Southampton and Fenerbahce to try and get him back 100%."

ManUtdWeb Prediction: United 0 - 0 Fenerbahce - I'm not too sure the youth and fringe can pull off an away victory in the Champions League, particularly in a tough country like Turkey. However, I don't expect them to lose. C'MON UNITED!
