Sheringham Agrees Pompey Switch

Former England Striker Teddy Sheringham has signed for Pompey on a one-year contract. This ends weeks of speculation about the former Manchester United forward's future.

Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur Striker Teddy Sheringham, has ended weeks of speculation by agreeing to sign for Division one champions Portsmouth.

Sheringham has been looking for a new club since being released by Tottenham at the end of last season.

The 37-year-old has signed a one-year contract worth £750,000 and is due to be unveiled at a press conference on Monday afternoon following a medical test.

Sheringham has been linked with several clubs over the past couple of weeks, which include: Wolves, and a player-coach role with Charlton.
