The Royals face the short trip to Oxfordshire on Wednesday to face local rivals Oxford United in the 1st Round Carling Cup tie at the Kassam Stadium.Last season the Royals beat the U's comftably,winning 3-1 with goals from John Salako,Nicky Forster and James Harper.

Steve Coppell could ring the changes for this Wednesday's clash with Coca Cola League 2 side Oxford United. Players coming into the side could include former Brentford defender Imbrahima Sonko, Shaun Goater and Lloyd Owusu. Goater and Owusu both hit 2 in the reserves 4-0 victory over Aldershot Town last Wednesday at the Madejski Stadium and both will be looking to prove to manager Steve Coppell their worthy of a place in the starting X11 for Saturday's visit to the New Den to face Millwall.
