Forster injury concern

Royals striker Nicky Forster faces a small spell out on the sidelines because of a recurrence of a groin injury.

The striker had an injection into his groin on Tuesday to rectify the first problem. Should the injection not work then Forster will require 100% rest which could see him miss the next couple of matches.

This will be the first big test of the club's strength in depth up front. Should Forster miss any games then his spot would go to Shaun Goater, a goalscoring legend at his former club Manchester City. The club has even more back up in Lloyd Owusu and Dean Morgan.

The Royals face Stoke City on the 16th October before the match anticipated clash with Leeds United at the Madejski Stadium on the 19th.

Reading currently sit in 3rd place in the Championship.

Meanwhile Rotherham United have confirmed that they are looking at the possibility of taking Reading striker Lloyd Owusu on loan. The Millers have had an awful start to the season having still not won a game in the league. Former Reading striker Martin Butler, now at Rotherham was ruled out for the entire season with the blood disorder hepatitis A.
