Kitson out of top of the table clash!

KITSON INJURY BLOW

The former Cambridge front man has been struggling in recent weeks and despite his recent goal scoring form, he has been playing despite the fact he hasn't been 100% fit.

A scan taken yesterday showed that his hamstring injury is as expected but the calf injury is worse than what was initially feared.

As a result of the injury, Shaun Goater will not be travelling to Bermuda to play in an international tournament. The Goat himself has been injured since the clash with Leeds back in mid October and has only just returned to full training. While Goater has resumed training, it isn't clear how his general fitness is as he hasn't played a competitive match yet and doesn't appear to be ready for a full 90 minute match.

Lloyd Owusu and Dean Morgan are the only 2 remaining striker's available. Morgan has 1 goal to his name this season while Owusu has 3. 

And with crucial matches coming up against top of the table Wigan Athletic in a sell out gate of 22,000 at the Madejski Stadium and then 2 important away trips to relegated sides Wolves and Leicester, the Royals will have to dig deep for help in the goal scoring department.
