Forrester hopes to revive form against old friends

Jamie Forrester's form has taken a recent nose-dive but you know what they say about strikers who face their old club. It's been just over 8 months since Forrester originally joined the Imps from the Pirates and to say he's revived his career is somewhat of an understatement.

The striker joined the Imps on Thursday 23rd March on transfer deadline day on a month's loan from Bristol Rovers. It was the injury to Simon Yeo that saw Keith Alexander decide to take the risk on a striker who hadn't exactly been prolific at Bristol Rovers scoring just 9 goals in 51 games for the Memorial Stadium. Forrester's impact was immediate and he played 11 times for the Imps last season, scoring 5 goals along the way including the eventually winner of "Goal of the Season" with a 30 yard lob over Steve Mildenhall in the 5-0 victory over Grimsby.

Well into his first full season at Sincil Bank and Forrester is having by far the most prolific time of his life and has not only scored 12 league goals, but 9 of those came in 3 hat-tricks against Mansfield (goals), Barnet and Rochdale, the other goals coming against Hartlepool and Swindon Town. However, Forrester's contribution in terms of teams goals is immense with more than 70% of the goals involving either him scoring or being involved in the set up of someone else's goal.

However, much like the whole team he had a very disappointing November, failing to score any goals as the team only scored thrice between them in the 4 defeats. To get himself back on form, Forrester will have to do something that's only happened twice in games involving Lincoln this season and that is scored against his former team. The only two players to score in games against their former clubs this season are Martin Gritton and Francis Green.

If Forrester does score, it would be his 18th (and possibly more) league goal in just 28 games for the Imps.
