City set for blank boxing day?

Lincoln City could regretably have boxing day off after Boston United's plans for the new stadium were rejected. The Pilgrims were hoping for the plans to be accepted to give the club a chance for survival and even their chairman doubts they will last until Saturday.

We all know Boston's troubles in recent years regarding finances but it was today revealed they are £1,100,000 in debt, a similiar figure to what the Imps were 4 and a half years ago and with the rejection of the prosposal for a new stadium, it looks highly unlikely they'll be able to survive much long without a severe 11th hour Ambramovich style take over.

Speaking to the Echo, Jim Rodwell revealed that they will be able to fulfil tonight's game against Chester but it could easily be the final ever game for Boston United. If it does turn out to be the case then they will be the first side since Aldershot to go bust and out of the league. Even if they are put in administration, it will be a slight stay of execution as it would put them on 7 points, almost certain of relegation along with Macclesfield.

If they do go extinct, without trying to sound harsh to their fans, it could be beneficial to the Imps as the possibility of their results being expunged, meaning that Wycombe, Peterborough and MK Dons all losing 3 points after their victories over the Pilgrims. Swindon and Notts Country would lose a point each but City would lose nothing after the 1-0 victory Boston gained on September 27th.

Obviously we at theimps.tk hope that Boston don';t go out of business and hope that the Pilgrims find a way to survive.
