Imps aim to avenge controversial first defeat

The Imps will aim to get revenge against MK Dons on Sky Sports after the Dons cheated themselves to a 3-2 win in September. It was a game that saw the Imps first defeat of the season as arguably the goal of the season so far wasn't even to beat Izale "Sack of Spuds" McLeod and the Dons.

It's not very often that you get the opporunity about Lincoln City on Sky Sports, even rarer to even see a League 2 game on Sky but this is the first a run of 3 City games on Sky within the space of a few weeks for the Imps. It will infact be an historic match as it is the first time that MK Dons will appear on Sky Sports since their creation in 2004.
The reverse game at Sincil Bank was one of the most exciting of the season with controversial goals, several bust-ups, and a red card for one of the worst cheaters in this division. There are quite a lot of rumours going around that McLeod will be leaving within the next few days and if that is true, it could mean that the Imps have a much easier task than they would normally have, mainly because if you take out McLeod's goals this year, they would lose 15 points because wins would have become draws, and draws become defeats.
If City want to maintain an automatic promotion push, we have to go to places like MK Dons and get a result, and if it's similiar to the game at Sincil Bank, we don't have anything to fear from one of the dirtiest teams in recent memory.
Nothing new to report, no new injuries, no fresh faces, so I reckon it'll probably be the same team that started against Macclesfield on Monday.

Lee Trundle, Liam Lawrence, Simon Yeo, and Izale McLeod, what do they all have in common? The answer is that if you let them just go into the box unchallenged, they'll punish you, however if you so much as breath on them, they'll go down in a heap and act as though they've been shot. Izale McLeod is one of the most dangerous strikers in the lower leagues and if it wasn't for his cheating antics, then he would be one of the most respected in the division, but he'd dive into a swimming pool full of piranhas if he thought it'd get them a penalty.
Many were surprised when Martin Allen turned down several Championship sides to take over at MK Dons, a side that had just been relegated without really putting up a fight. However, he has got his side looking very efficient, and when they do win, they usually win by quite a comfortable margin. However, their defeats are often down to scrappy goals.
Overall, MK Dons have to be one of the favourites to go up this season, especially as the amount of their cheating they do takes a lot of teams by surprise.
