Imps bring in experienced forward on loan

Lincoln City have signed experienced striker, Junior Mendes, on a one month loan deal from local rivals Notts County. With injuries mounting up at Sincil Bank, the two John's have decided to bring in added strike power after the goals have somewhat dried up for the Imps recently.

In his career, Mendes has represented Chelsea, St Mirren, Dunfermline, Carlisle, Mansifeld, Huddersfield, Grimsby and Notts County, a strike rate of just 46 goals in 252 league games would make you think that he has had a disappointing time. However, he is often involved with successful sides, helping both Mansfield and Grimsby to playoff finals, whilst almost helping Huddersfield secure a place in the League One playoffs a few years back.

It could be a good omen for the Imps that he has joined, as he has joined around the same time that Jamie Forrester joined last season, let's hope he can rejuvenate the Imps like Forrester did.

Mendes will go straight into the side for Saturday's home game against Barnet.
