Morgan completes expected move to Bury

Recently released Lincoln defender Paul Morgan has completed, in his own words, "one of the worst kept secrets in football at the minute" after signing a 2 year contract at Bury. Lesss than 24 hours after leaving the Imps he has signed a contract with the Shakers, citing Keith Alexander as the main reason why he wanted to join Bury.

Morgan left Sincil Bank yesterday after 6 years at Sincil Bank and quickly completed his prefered move to a team in the North-West. It brings to an end a saga that started in April when he handed in a transfer request, citing personal reasons for his desire to leave.

Speaking to Bury's official website, Morgan was very complementary towards the Imps.

"It was hard to leave Lincoln after six years, I've got a lot are friends there and the fans have been great with myself. I've had a lot of good times at Lincoln. We've been unfortunately to just miss out, but potential they are a League One club and to leave that kind of standard that I know they can achieve is a tough decisiion, but in terms of personal reason and what I want to achieve, I think I needed a change in the end."

It won't be long before the Imps are re-united with Morgan when the Imps visit Gigg Lane on October 2nd.
