BBC predicts City to be Champions

The BBC have predicted Lincoln City to finally achieve automatic promotion, and win the League 2 title in the process, the first time that would happen since 1976. City haven't won promotion since the 1997/8 season and will be hoping it'll be 6th time lucky after 5 straight defeats in the Playoffs.

City broke the record for most consecutive Playoff appearances without winning when Grimsby eliminated the Imps at the semi final stage just over 12 months ago, May's defeat to Bristol Rovers in the semi finals not only made the Imps the only side to make 5 consecutive playoff appearances, but also the first to lose 5 in the row.

The BBC are confident that the Imps can finally achieve promotion, citing Lee Frecklington as the main man as the Imps apparantly stride to the title.

To be more specific the BBC have predicted "Last season's beaten play-off finalists will make no mistake this time. Champions." So whether the validity of their opinion must be questioned because City haven't been a losing playoff finalist since 2005.

Most City fans don't care about winning the title, it'd just be a nice bonus on top of hopefully winning the automatic promotion.

According to the BBC we can expect to go up with MK Dons and Peterborough (shock).
