Peterborough to be evicted from London Road?

Lincoln City might not have to travel to Peterborough United's London Road this season after the owners of the football ground threatened to evict them due to safety regulations. Peterborough United Holdings Limited own London Road and are said to be highly displeased about recent events that have seen Barry Fry agree to sell the club to Darragh McAnthony,

Darragh McAnthony completed his takeover of Peterborough just under 2 weeks ago and Peterborough fans thought everything was "hunky-doory" and that the club was on the up. However, now many Boro fans are fearing the PUHL have backlashed against McAnthony's buying of the club by threatening them with the old Big Brother style eviction.

In a statement released on Peterborough's website, they basically go on to say that PUHL have requested all the safety certificates as they are worried about the risk of fire. This would normally be viewed as nothing out of the ordinary but they apparantly haven't requested this information under the many years of Barry Fry's ownership of the club.

Several Peterborough fans have already started speculating the likely alternative grounds if indeed they are evicted from London Road, it appears that the likely option will be Rushden and Diamond's Nene Park.
