Imps draw Forest in the FA Cup 1st Round

The disappointment of going bottom of the League was briefly forgotten as the Imps were drawn at home to local rivals Nottingham Forest in the 1st Round of the FA Cup. It's the 5th year in a row and the 6th season in 7 that City have drawn a League One side in the first round, and it's now even longer since City drew a non-league side, the last time that happened being in the 00/01 season.

Drawing Forest at home was one of the draws that a lot of teams would have chosen as their first choice of a draw and thankfully that fell the Imps way. It is one of the more attractive ties of the round and one of the ties more likely to see TV coverage. The only two rivals are realistically going to be Torquay vs Yeovil or Gainsborough vs Hartlepool.
