Uninspiring draw for replay winners

If Lincoln beat Nottingham Forest in a replay then they will face a fun-filled trip to either Luton Town or Brentford, continuing City's long run of failing to draw a non-league side. City will only find out if they will definitely be in the 2nd round just 4 days before the next round begins, due to the replay being switched to Tuesday 27th.

The closest City have come to drawing a non-league side since the 2000-1 season is in the 03-04 season when City beat Brighton, to then be drawn against the winners of either Southend or Canvey, with the Shrimpers winning through.

City faced Brentford just a few weeks ago and despite losing, City will have very little to fear from Griffin Park as they were very average. Luton would be an unknown quantity as the Imps haven't faced them for 6 years, although Peter Jackson's Huddersfield were the first side to beat them 2 seasons ago.

However, there's no point in thinking about round 2 until City deal with the replay against Forest, due to be played in just over 2 weeks on Tuesday 27th November.
