Lee wants Aaron's left back spot permanently

Lee Beevers has made his intentions perfectly clear after being part of a sterling defensive performance by the Imps on Tuesday night against Leicester. Speaking to Radio Lincolnshire, Lee revealed that he is after Aaron Brown's left back position after putting in some decent performances since Brown's injury.
Beevers is City's longest serving player, joining the club in February 2005 from Boston United, ironically just days after City had won 2-0 at York Street. He has since been inconsistant from season to season, winning Player of the Season in 2006/7 but being consistantly poor during the 2007/8 season. He started this season off in a similar manner before being moved to left back, impression many as very few goals have come from his side.
"I enjoy playing there and getting forward so hopefully I can hold the place down. I like to get the ball down and play, and I think being at full-back gives me more of a licence to do that, so maybe it is the place for me," he told Radio Lincolnshire.
Beevers has occasionally been drafted to cover the left back position in the absense of injured players and has near enough always done a competent job. Whether he can do it over a sustained run of games remains to be seen though.
