Two former Imps out of work

Two former Imps are on their way out to Meadow Lane after Notts County had yet another predictable lower-midtable finish. Despite being a proven goalscorer, Forrester's career never seemed to kick off at County and Butcher was also accused of being lazy by quite a few of the fans at Meadow Lane. Both will be released at the end of the season.

Forrester and Butcher have both have two spells at Jamie Forrester, Lincoln CitySincil Bank. Forrester joined on loan towards the end of the 2005/6 season on loan from Bristol Rovers, making it permanent for his second spell a few months later and he then averaged a goals ratio of better than once every three games. However, he left Sincil Bank last summer after a season of rumours that he and the club fell out over the football school than Forrester runs in his spare time.

This issue never seemed to go away and he left Sincil Bank and went to Meadow Lane. It has never really happened for him there and fans quickly turned against him as they unsurprisingly went through another lower-midtable season.

Forrester was greeted with a warm welcome upon his return to Sincil Bank in March, almost scoring with an acrobatic effort in front of County's fans.

Butcher on the other hand was one of Keith Alexander's non-League legion, signing in 2002 from Kettering Town before then helping City to two Playoff Finals in three seasons before leaving for Oldham. He again struggled to adapt to a new club and was the victim of abuse from their fans, returning to Sincil Bank on loan for a month before ending up at Peterborough and then Notts County.

He had a decent goalscoring record for the Magpies but the fans against turned against him on internet forums and he has become one of the five to be released by the men from Meadow Lane.

Although it is unknown if Forrester has yet received any offers, it is believed that Butcher has already been contacted by Macclesfield Town with regards to earning a contract there.

I have a feeling that Gainsborough might try their luck. They've shown they have ambitions by bringing in Beckett, so you never know.

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky

I think Jamie will retire myself and concentrate on his soccer school.
As for Ricky B I doubt will sign him, especially as Jacko himself has said he spoken to Worthington.
We do need a goalscoring midfielder and he fits that bill for sure, it would help take the pressure off the forwards.

We gonna lose DNG and Freck so i would have Butcher and worthington with kerr next year. As for forrester excellent player but maybe getting a bit old but if he comes at a cheaper price than wright or Horsefield on wages why not get him back.

Time to move on, good servants to the Club but signing either of them would be a retrograde step.
