The details for all the major dates in the League season during the 2009/10 season have been released, with the Imps poised set to find out the draw for the Carling Cup, as well as their League fixtures within 24 hours of each other.

It's that time of year when you know that you're definitely going to be in this division next year. It's almost time for the fixtures to be released to the public, as well as the Carling Cup draw.

City will be hoping for another decent draw, having drawn out Derby twice, Doncaster and Scunthorpe in recent years. However, City haven't progressed through any cup's first hurdle since beating Crewe Alexandra 5-1 in the 2005/6 season's Carling Cup first round.

The draw will be seeded again and the Imps have a great chance to face some really big clubs, with Newcastle United and Middlesbrough joining the first round.

It is because of the World Cup, Championship players are likely to be involved for their countries and the precious little things need extra time to re-group!!!

Doesnt look like there will be many midweek games early in the season again with all those cup games.
