City sign a striker!

Lincoln City finally have a striker on their books. All regular strikers from last season were either released, sent back to their parent club or have yet to sign new contracts, making Jamie Clarke our only first team striker.

The 20 year old striker has signed for the Imps after being released by Rotherham United. Despite scoring on his debut for the men from the Don Valley Stadium, Clarke never settled for them, but does hold a Football League record of seven goals in twenty six games, including five in fifteen games for Accrington last season, including a game at Sincil Bank where he had a goal disallowed.

Clarke is the second signing of the pre-season following on from Richard Butcher, and he could be joined by name-sake Billy as City have been linked with the former Ipswich man in recent weeks. Peter Jackson has revealed that he has spoken to several strikers and could have more news later on in the week. Other strikers linked with City have include Liam Hatch.
