Imps linked with Benjamin move

Lincoln City have been strangely linked with a move for Trevor Benjamin, according to an extremely flawed article on the BBC website. The article claims that Gateshead's aim to bring in the striker could be scuppered by the Imps after the travelled striker apparantly played in Lincoln's friendly against Ferencvaros last week.
Benjamin's career has been in decline over the last few years, spending part of last season with Kidsgrove Athletic in the Unibond Leagues, although he was linked to Gainsborough Trinity at one point. He has now been linked with a move to Gateshead following their successive promotions.
However, a strange article on the BBC website claims that Benjamin could be set for a move to Sincil Bank. The article claims that Benjamin was part of a draw with Ferencvaros, a friendly they claim was played last Saturday. In reality, not only did the friendly take part last Wednesday, but Benjamin was nowhere to be seen.
The squad for last week's game against the Hungarians was Burch, Hughton, Heath, Kovacs, Hone, Shane Clarke, Butcher, Brown, Butcher, Jamie Clarke, Connor and Fagan, with Hutchinson, Coleman-Carr, Oakes, Swaibu, Muller, Adams and Musselwhite on the bench.
Meanwhile, Lincoln have confirmed that Paul Connor's trial will continue in tomorrow's friendly against Boston United.
