Imps handed favourable draw in the FA Cup

Lincoln City have an excellent chance to get to the FA Second Round for the first time since 2003 after they were drawn to play away to either AFC Telford or Blyth Spartans. Ironically, the Imps last progressed beyond the first round when they had played Telford United a few weeks before hand.

City played Telford United in the LDV Vans Trophy first round in 2003/4, the last time City made it past the first hurdle of that competition. The Imps ran out comfortable 3-1 winners. City haven't met Blyth Spartans in recent memory.

Both sides are in the Conference North, but one non-League side that won't be in the first round will be Lincoln United. Despite taking an early lead through Jamie Forrester, three goals in six first half minutes sealed the win for the visitors. Cambridge will now face Ilkeston at home in the 1st Round.

The tie of the round though has to be minnows Paulton drawing Norwich at home. The Southern League team will host the League One Playoff chasers in a game that could easily find itself on TV.
