10 Positive things about Sutton

Seeing as I apparantly can't say anything positive at all, I figured I would sit down and press my mind for 10 things that I actually find positive about Sutton's era so far. It may have taken nearly two hours but we finally have ten things.
1) We're not losing as many games. Ok, three 0-0's aren't exactly exciting and no wins in ten isn't exactly brilliant, but I suppose if you're not conceding, you're likely to fluke a win with even the most negative tactics.
2) If the board went one way with the over the top Jackson, they've gone completely the opposite way with Sutton. Jackson was full of energy, excitement and passion, whereas Sutton appears, on the surface, to be laid-back, passive and about as passion-filled as a bucket of dry paint. Sutton more than likely won't be blabbing next summer (if he survives that long) about how we're "definitely going to win promotion".....subsequently making us a laughing stock in the division.
3) Some (and I do stress some, as in NOT ALL) of his signings so far have been alright. Chris Herd looks like he'd be a handful in this division over a long term basis, Lichaj's throws are threatening when far enough up the pitch....and that's about it really.
4) We're maintaining a gap over Grimsby, we can still afford to lose a game and still have an advantage. If we can keep matching or bettering Grimsby's results then, assuming Darlington don't have a Carlisle or Macclesfield style recovery, we will be safe.
5) We've progressed in a cup, something that neither Jackson or Schofield managed. Infact, Sutton has already won more FA games in the space of 2 months than Keith Alexander won in four years.
6) Other than his precious Aston Villa loanees, Sutton certainly doesn't appear to have any favourites, meaning that he will have no qualms in changing the side on a regular basis. Infact, he has yet to field the same starting XI two games in a row since coming to Sincil Bank.
7) The return of hoofball, which, if you liked Keith Alexander's four years at the club, then you'll love the return of.
8) Although we've had three 0-0 results, we've still been conceding goals on a regular basis.....BUT we don't look like getting thrashed every other week like we did under Schofield and Jackson.
9) Expectations are lower, no-one now realistically expects a promotion push, most just want the team to actually appear like they give a crap......whether we get that or not is up to debate.
10) With our position in the league that we've only won 5 games at home in 2009, clubs will come to us expecting three points.......teams such as Hull had attitudes like that and barely got a point at Sincil Bank, let alone three.

I challenge you, oh mighty master of the quill, produce an article about your optimism, if not (which I fully expect given that you ignored the offer the last time I said that), then stop moaning about those who actually put time and effort into writing articles for others to read.

i myself , have only been to two games of the sutton era, so rely on this site among others to keep me updated on the goings on at our club.
the negative vibe that is hovvering around the club seems to be all your fault, just for you being honest and saying it like it is !!!!
keep up the good work with this site, and come on all the slaters, get something decent, facts not make believe, on here as suggested ????
None of us want to see this club relegated, so the frustration is there for us all to see.
However, frustration is destructive, and criticism of
a. the board
b. the manager.
c. the players.
d. our playing style
will only serve to bring about a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I am sure Mr Sutton and Co are doing everything they can to move us up the table. This is time for support, not criticism. If we are still where are we in six months, it will not be through want of trying.

I do notice that I posted the offer of him writing something five minutes after his post and he hasn't been seen since.
If you give it up it might improve.
Most negative tactics? In a post that is meant to contain positives, you have a pop at his tactics. I would disagree we have been negative, and if we have been negative away from home I can fully understand that given our position and need to pick up points. That happens every week in football.
Hoofball? No especially, most league two sides are direct, as are most League One sides, if we are direct - I am happy as will most others.
Let's make a note that Chris Sutton has assessed fitness levels, and recognised this wasn't good enough, hence extra training and improvement will gradually occur.
Yes we need results, yes things can improve we all know that, but this club has been scraping along the floor for the best part of the last three years, to expect an immediate upturn in fortunes is a little bit shortsighted.
