Megson sacked ahead of Saturday's game

Bolton Wanderers have sacked Gary Megson ahead of Saturday's FA Cup game against the Imps. After being 2-0 up against Hull last night, they could only manage a 2-2 draw that kept Bolton in the Premiership drop zone, and now they will be managerless for Saturday's FA Cup tie.

In a statement released at around 11:15am, Bolton announced Megson had lost his job because of the position Bolton were in half way through season. Chris Evans and Steve Wigley will be in charge for Saturday's game between Bolton and the Imps.

Megson won just 27 of his 99 matches in charge of Bolton, and their fans grew increasingly impatient as the former Forest manager guided them slowly towards relegation.
