3,107 is a good way to start the decade.

Lincoln City's first away game of the decade saw a massive 3,107 fans make the trip to Lancashire. In an away following that was more than some of our home attendances this season, most will go away reasonably satisfied despite a 4-0 defeat.

Other than the 2 Playoff Finals, this is the second biggest away following of the century so far, only outnumbered by an extra 53 that went to the Second Leg of the Playoff Semi Final at Huddersfield in 2004. Just like that game, the Imps today outsang their hosts, with Bolton only really creating any noise once they scored.

With the away following today being nearly seven times the size of the average away following, hopefully some of those who only came for the big day out will be tempted to come on a more regular basis.

awesome support in terms of numbers, 1000 more than most were expecting.

Did anyone predict that number, i bet not!
Could be one of the reasons for our poor attendance in the match after Northwhich, fans wanting to save their money for a premiership ground.

As HeathImp said, awesome support in terms of numbers but I don't agree that we 'outsung Bolton as we did at Huddersfield'. I thought we were extremely quiet, considering the numbers we had and didnt outsing Bolton at any point in the game. Maybe this was because our singers were split up, I'm not sure. I was in the corner next to all the little scrotes so perhaps the noise from the Imps just didnt travel. What are the general thoughts in terms of noise we made?

What I meant by that was that although we weren't awfully loud, Bolton were very quiet, hence the outsung comment.
