Southend down, Bournemouth up

Lincoln City's reward for successfully surviving relegation is the chance of revenge against Southend after the Shrimps were themselves relegated to League Two on Saturday afternoon. Bournemouth will replace them after a win for them confirmed they will compete in League One next season. Hull were also effectively relegated....gutted :D

Southend's 2-2 draw at Oldham confirmed that they will be playing League Two football next season....the first time they will have done so since beating Lincoln in the 2004/5 Playoff Final, ironically their relegation back to this level comes one month shy of the five year anniversary of that Playoff Final. Since then the Shrimps have won League One, beaten Manchester United and been to the League One Playoffs.

Wycombe will be relegated if they fail to win next Saturday, whereas Tranmere are the other team in the drop zone.

Bournemouth will replace them after they won 2-0 at Burton Albion. The Cherries were one of the senitmental choices for promotion this season following what's happened to them in recent seasons.

The Blue Square Premier Division Playoffs have also been decided. York must face Luton and Rushden will face Oxford. The Final will be played on May 16th.

Also, nothing to do with League Two but we are also quite pleased that Hull have been effectively relegated from the Premiership. They have two games to make up six points and a goal difference of more than 20. It'll be interesting to see how many of their glory supporting fans stick around given that 10 years ago they were averaging around 4,000 thugs/fans.....so to have a lot of their current crowds chanting "loyal supporters" is quite frankly laughable.

A superb effort from Bournemouth - team and manager of the season for me out of the 92 league clubs considering they had a transfer embargo all season and ongoing financial problems. Feel slightly sorry for Southend, especially their talented manager, but at least it gives us a chance to get revenge for 2005.

Not all Hull fans are thugs, my grandparents, uncles & cousins all watch & they are far from it.....
There were a few "thugs/chavs" at our game today, but i'd hope we're not all tarred with the same brush
