Imps stunned by Grantham

Lincoln City's impressive pre-season form went out of the window as they lost to Grantham Town of the Evostik Premier, two divisions below the Imps.

An experimental formation was a surprised to most Imps fans with trialist and former Imp Luke Foster being given another chance to impress, along with goalkeeper Matt Armstong-Ford (who was down as just Matt Armstrong on the team sheet).

Grantham's first goal came as a result of a long ball and it was headed over the onrushing keeper and into the City net. The Gingerbreads doubled their lead in the closing stages of the game. Power did pull one back very late on via a penalty.

It leaves City with a 50/50 record during pre-season, beating Lincoln United and Harrogate, whilst losing to Chesterfield and Grantham.

Next up for the first team is a game against Sunderland's Under 21 side on Wednesday evening.

Like I don't bother taking much from results against Lincoln Utd I don't from Grantham either, sure Keith lost his first game at Lincoln Utd 1 nil.

Can't believe they charged a tenner to get into these kick-arounds, you'd think they'd want as many people as possible to see there new players

I didn't go because of the steep price, £5 would be plenty.
