Imps fan fails to win investment for club from Dragons Den

In a pre-season that has been full of strange stories, few will be more bizarre than Rob Makepeace, a fan of the Imps and broadcaster for Radio Lincolnshire, trying to convince two new members of Dragons Den to invest in the club.

Makepeace is a long term friend of this site and featured on several of the away day videos down the years, and in recent years he has started working for Radio Lincolnshire. Rob has also been praised for his optimism, but that went to a whole new level in the last few days as he tried to gain some investment in the football club from two new members of the BBC TV Show, Dragons Den.

Piers Kinney and Kelly Hoppen have replaced Theo Paphitis and Hilary Devey respectively, but neither were, unsurprisingly interested in investing in Lincoln City when speaking to Makepeace, especially after he changed his initial £1,000,000 request to £2,000,000, and in the words of Kinney and Hoppen, "didn't have the facts."

In the pitch, that was broadcast on Radio Lincolnshire, Hoppen stated that because she supports Arsenal, she feels that she couldn't support two teams, and Kinney said that as the club is community based, it should remain run by and involving the locals.

The search for investment goes on.
