Boston manager, Steve Evans has started the war of words ahead of the eagerly anticipated game on Boxing Day. He has said his side will be more than ready and with Boston's home form, it will be a very hard game for the Imps.
The verbal war between the Imps and Boston has begun with Steve Evans stating his side will be ready for the eagerly anticipated game on Boxing Day. Boston go into the game without a victory over the Imps since August 2002. The teams met on September 11th when goals from Jamie McCombe and Francis Green put the Imps 2-0 up before goals from a controversial penalty and ex-Imp Jason Lee in the last 5 minutes saw them come away from Sincil Bank with a point they definatly didn't deserve.
"Everyone talks about how well Lincoln are doing, yet we are only four points behind them and still in the FA Cup" said Evans before Wednesday's victory over Rushden. The Pilgrims are now however, facing a daunting challenge in the FA Cup when they travel to the team that knocked the Imps out of the competition, Hartlepool United, a lot of Imps fans laughed when that draw came out, Boston fans were gloating they were still in the cup but they've faced two non-league sides whereas the Imps went to a fortress in English football.
Tickets for the Lincoln end at the game go on sale on Saturday before the game with Cheltenham and the Imps have been given just over 2000 tickets for the game.
