Keith set to extend contract

After months of speculation linking Keith to Peterborough, Rotherham and Notts County, he's negotiating a new contract to keep him at Sincil Bank past next summer when it was due to expire. Rumours have been rife over the past few weeks with links between Keith and Peterborough becoming frequent.

In all honesty, I think it says leaps and bounds when your manager is linked to many other jobs and during his second spell with the Imps, Keith has been linked with Peterborough, Northampton, Notts County, Hartlepool, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday amoungst others with the Posh being the most vocal over the links. However, Keith has said on the official website that he is in negotiations to extend his contract at Sincil Bank.

"I am very happy here and Lincoln and am fully focused on our efforts for promotion over the next few weeks. I intend to fulfil the next year which I am contracted to and I am delighted that the board are negotiating to extend this furthur."

The Imps are on course to become only the 3rd side to achieve 3 consecutive playoffs campaigns. Premiership side Birmingham City were tried 4 times before finally getting it right. The other team were Hartlepool who failed in 3 playoff campaigns against Darlington, Blackpool and Cheltenham before finally gaining promotion through the automatic door, they were involved in the playoffs last season but lost in the semi finals again to Bristol City and are set for the playoffs yet again. City are looking to make it 3rd time lucky after losing the final in 2002/3 and falling at the semi final stage last season.
