Swindon manager, Andy King revealed in a radio interview that Paul Mayo decided against joining them, to rejoin Lincoln. Mayo left to go to Watford in March last year and became a regular member of the first team until half way through last season before being released and now looks set to return.

The League 1 club were all set to reveal Mayo as part of a quartet of new signings this week but instead, manager, Andy King has revealed that Mayo did a u-turn at the last minute and is all set to rejoin the Imps. King told BBC Swindon,

"Incredibly to me, he (Mayo) agreed to sign for Lincoln instead. Sometimes it is not a football choice."

This comes after Mayo left to join Watford towards the end of the last season and to be fair, the defence started looking very pentrable down the left after his departure. Mayo scored his first goal for the Imps in the playoff home game against Scunthorpe United with a brilliantly taken volley and went onto score 8 goals before signing for Watford.

Mayo is expected to be revealed as one of 5 players to sign on Friday.
