Hughes finally joins the Imps

City have finally secured the signing of Larne born left back, Jeff Hughes from the Northern Irish Leagues. Hughes initially joined the Imps on trial in the pre-season and set up two goals in the 4-0 win over Coleraine, however, he disappeared soon afterwards but today penned a 2 year deal.

Hughes penned a 2 year deal on Wednesday afternoon, after watching the Imps' annihilate Crewe in the Carling Cup and said he was looking forward to helping the club challenge for promotion.

Hughes was also a target for Premiership side Sunderland but has chosen to join the Imps due to the potential lack of first team chances at Sunderland.

Hughes goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Rushden and Diamonds.
