Imps setting their targets

Several well known strikers have been spotted at Sincil Bank in recent days after the club missed out on Gary Bradshaw. The former Hull striker has reportedly signed for Cheltenham Town and City have been out the look out for several new strikers, including Jabo Iberhe and David Brown.

The club have neither confirmed, nor denied the rumours about several well known strikers coming for a look around the club with the possibility of the move. Amoungst the names are believed to be former Manchester United striker, David Brown and surprisingly, Macclesfield's Jon Parkin. The later of which would be considered a great purchase for the Imps, however the stumbling block will more than likely be the asking price which is believed to be £250,000, something that is considerable out of City's range.

Brown however, would be a more realistic target. The former Manchester United and Hull striker is currently playing for Accrington Stanley after a successful time at Hereford. The asking price for Brown is reportedly only £15,000.

Other players rumoured to have been at Sincil Bank in the last few days include Leyton Orient's Jabo Ibehre, Torquay United's Tony Bedeau and Nottingham Forest's David Johnson, although the former Ipswich man commands £10,000 a week after almost joining during the summer.

No matter what, unless signed on a free transfer, we'll have to wait until January to see any transfer action but several of the names being touted around, could very well prove the difference between staying in this division, or finally taking the step up to league 2.
