CCFC look to have been beaten to the signature of Steven McPhail by .... Barnsley! And, while other clubs are moving into half-a-dozen signings, CCFC still haven't officially signed ANYBODY. It looks great for next season....

Old boy Phil Babb could be set for a return to Highfield Road. Reports suggest that he has been fairly poor over the last few seasons, but, if he can get anywhere near his previous performances at Highfield Road, he could be a fine partner for Callum Davenport at the back. This is always assuming that Carlisle or York don't make a late bid for him, of course....

Peter Reid has apparently given up on signing a goalkeeper, leaving Richard Brush as Scott Shearer's No. 2 - not acceptable. While Brush is regarded as a decent prospect, having two such inexperienced keepers is a recipe for disaster - especially as Brush was on the wrong end of a few hammerings while on loan at Tamworth last season! (4-0 v Woking; 4-0 v Morecambe; 5-1 v Chester; 3-0 v Accrington Stanley ("Accrington Stanley? Who are they?!"))

Season ticket sales are said to be at the disgracefully low amount of 2,000 - absolutely pathetic. The `Early Bird' scheme must be finished, or coming to the end of the offer, so it is doubtful that there will be too many more takers. There are probably Third Division clubs (Will it be called this next season? Or will it be Division One The Third?!) that have sold more than this.

Todays sale of Mr. Safri to Norwich, for half a million pound - possibly rising to a million (Probably depending on whether or not they stay up .... half a million it is then) - will have done nothing to encourage people to splash their cash, though in Eric Delomeaux CCFC have a replacement I would say is more worthy of the shirt. Expect him to be sold any day now then.

Safri will more than likely be back at Highfield Road in a months time, as CCFC have once again organised a fixture against a side newly promoted to the Premiership. I'm sure the Norwich supporters that come along won't spend the entire match ridiculing us for still being in Division Hell....

CCFC are also looking into selling off their Ryton training ground (Once they can find out exactly where the nails are that are holding it down), and are looking to train nearer the new stadium (Pictures of thie stadium can be found on the Message Board). My back garden (Roughly two miles away) is available at a price....

Presuming CCFC actually have a team by the time August comes round, the first match of the new season will be at home to Sunderland....
