Injury worries for Gillingham

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has admitted that he may be forced to bring new faces in as the club try to deal with their injury crisis.

Hessenthaler has his hands tied after Tommy Johnson's injury on Saturday which leaves numbers low. Summer signing Rod Wallace has yet to start for the Gills because of injury also.

Speaking to the clubs official site Hessenthaler admitted that loans are an option. "I'm not trying to make excuses with the injuries but it disrupts what we're trying to do when our top players are out of the side," said Hessenthaler.

"It is down to me to lift the team - and I'm sure I'll be able to do that with the characters that we've got at the club.

"But if we pick up any more injuries we might have to get some players in on loan."
