Crewe need the win to stay in the league, if they lose they face a tough task, while if they win they will have dented the hopes of Wimbledon making a late dash for the play-offs.
| Wimbledon Vs Crewe |
Well the table is shuffling for one last time and one team who seem out of favour in that shuffle is Crewe. Crewe have since fell from when they had 5 games in hand over their rivals while being 6 points above the top 3 but they have fallen flat on their faces as they now sit 2nd from bottom with just 5 games left and needing 9 points. Wimbledon on the other hand are relishing their luck as they find themselfs in reaching distance of the play-offs. If they can beat Crewe tonight they can be 1 point away from 6th place but they will then have to rely on tonights opponents to lend them a hand as Birminghams only game in hand is against Crewe. Wimbledon sold half of their team on transfer deadline day, those including Cooper, Ainsworth and Hughes. It didn't seem to bother them on form wise as they beat both Sheff Utd and Rotherham over the Easter weekend. Wimbledon will name the same team that beat Sheff Utd 1-0, which is... Kelvin Davis, Jermaine Darlington, Peter Hawkins, Mark Williams, Kenny Cunningham, Damien Francis, Neal Ardley, Joel McAnuff, Lionel Morgan, Neil Shipperley, Patrick Agyemang. Crewe have a few injury problems, Dave Brammer and Geoff Thomas still out with a calf and knee injury which they picked up in the FA Cup run. Brammer is expected a return for Sunday with Thomas expected to be out for another two weeks. Dave Wright is fit and ready to play after missing the last two games. Rodney Jack isn't out for the rest of the season as first thought but is expected to sit out on the sidelines till Sunday. Dean Ashton ISN'T going under the knife despite some newspaper reports yesturday and is fit but Dario refuses to say if he'll start or not. Dave Walton is also fit but will probably stay on the bench after Sodje and Foster both stay solid at the back. |
