Nilsson & Smith Sacked

Roland Nilsson and Jim Smth, his number 2, have been sacked by Coventry. Roland was appointed manager just after the start of the season when Coventry sacked Strachan because they found themelfs in the bottom half of the table. Roland took Coventry to the top 3 and looked certain to get a play-off place. A recent fall though has seen them fall out of the play-off running. The chairman, McGinnity said: “We understand the fans’ frustration completely in addition to the need for immediate change.

“The board has therefore decided to terminate the contracts of Roland Nilsson and Jim Smith with immediate effect.”

Steve Ogrizovic and Trever Peake take over for Sundays game and until Coventry find a new manager.
