Its troubled times at Everton right now, struggling in the Premiership, out of Europe, and what was a glorious season last time out has blown up big style this season. And now the boardroom battle for control of the club is about to begin again in earnest.
Bill Kenwright is attempting to launch a bid to by out his main shareholding rival at Everton, Paul Gregg and is said to be desperate to find the funds to buy Gregg's 30% stake in the club.
Speaking to the Daily Post Mr Kenwright said:
"Five months ago, Bill put an offer on the table which was basically around £5m up front, with the rest of the £7m coming within 12 months.
“But because we were then fourth in the Premiership and qualifiers for the Champions League, Mr Gregg felt that it was not enough.
"He said he wanted a return on his investment and sums in the region of £10m were mentioned but Bill couldn't raise it and frankly it wasn't worth that money."
