Transfer hitch for Dundee United

Dundee United's plans to unveil their latest signing hit a hitch when the club cancelled a press conference planned for this afternoon.

Ian McCall was expected to unveil Derek McInnes at 1pm after contract talks with the West Brom midfielder, but his signing now appears to have been delayed.

United are also closing in on Falkirk's veteran striker Owen Coyle, who is set to join as a player-coach.

If both deals go through, they will join former Partick duo Scott Paterson and Alan Archibald as well as goalkeeper Tony Bullock, who have all joined United in recent weeks.
