Much to my surprise Sean went along with Manhug and dropped Ben Mee, will he listen to MH again and replace Duff with Keane ? Since the 0-0 draw with Sunderland we've conceded 15 goals in 5 games, an average of 3 a game. Sean won't be happy about that, not one little bit, and we can't continue shipping goals at that rate anyway or we're certainly down. So what can he do, not a lot really except try Keane for Duff, and as he's already dumped Ben why would he hesitate to dump Michael as well.

I think it could happen, as long as Keane's fit and been showing up well down Gawthorpe, MH could be on for a double.

We had a chat during the week and decided it was time to get Ward in.

Keane will be staring on Saturday.

Sean told me that he was after a new first choice centre half, left back and winger in the Summer to fit into his promoted 11...along with a few squad players and an equivalent to Vokes.

He got them all, but later than he wanted, and he told me had Ward and Keane arrived during pre-Season then they would have started the Season at home to Chelsea but arriving so late he both wanted to let them settle in and see what we are about and be loyal to Mee/Duff who had started the Season with several clean sheets.

Boyd is a worry, he should impress again on Saturday against his old Club (our best player again last weekend, whilst also being lucky to stay on the pitch), Sean said he is on 3/4 bookings already though.

This coming Saturday we should see the best BFC 11 since the 70s (with only a fit Vokes pushing Jutkiewicz):

Jutkiewicz Ings

Thats the side Sean wanting to start the Season with...and were about to see it unleashed o Saturday.

Not fussed about Keane for Duff, im like.....whatever.
But its a bit baffling that Chalabah is not getting much of a chance. From the bits ive seen of him on the pitch he looks decent, and one of the few who seem comfortable in possession.
Whether he can make a difference remains to be seen. According to me, he should be starting against Hull.
Whats the point of these loan lads if they are not getting a chance to make a difference. Might as well have not bothered and put "Cammie" and the like on the bench. We cant do much worse than what weve done so far, no nothing to lose.

Can only see Chabolah was brought in as back up.

He wasn't good enough for neither Forest nor Boro last Season so it's a big step up for him plus it means dropping either Marney or Jones or not playing 442/4411. None of which should happen.

Think Keane is ahead of Chabolah in where he's at.

IMO chahlobah is more suited to the possession football needed in the prem than the rough and tumble of the championship, we need to find a way of getting him in the side.

Why? More chance of Wallace stepping up then Chalobah, but you're the one who claims he shouldn't play again and that he's stolen a wage.

There is no way in for him without dropping one of our two best players or changing the system which would be a disaster.

He's there as back up for injury/suspension and to come on if we do want to change system if winning.

I'd be tempted to replace Jones with Chalobah. Jones has looked very one-footed and one-paced at this level. Especially in the last two games. What we are doing clearly isn't working, need to try something a little bit different.

Think Jones has looked alright myself.

Duff was poor on Saturday, I think it's time for a change.

Didn't we change the system against Arsenal with Ings dropping deeper and often making an extra man in midfield? Looked that way to me.

We played 4411 on Saturday, the roles of the 8 were the same as they always were.

Sordell played further up than our strikers normally do, clearly told to play on the last man at all times, with Ings playing deeper.

As I said above though we can play 4411 as it doesn't affect how we play, in nutshell its no different to 442.

As for the suggestion of dropping Jones for a player who failed at 2 Championship clubs last Season. Staggering. Jones, along with Arfield, has been our best player so far.

I wonder how much of our games these folk with weird suggestions see sometimes

just to let you know seeing as you dont watch other teams or check their results hull were 2-1 up at arsenal the other week. it wont be a walk in the park, they are a decent side.

We have to change something. The "fine margins" and "defended well for a half" is beginning to grate. The facts are in our last 5 games we have conceded 3 goals a game and not really looking all that threatening more threatening than when we wernt scoring.

The midfield for me has as much of the blame for the goals we are conceding as the defence for not tracking runners and leaving our full backs struggling to stop crosses coming into our box.

But how do you know it's our best eleven ? You're replacing Duff with Keane, a centre-half who was part of the best defence in the Championship last season, who's been in a defence that has already kept three clean sheets this season, and restricted two of the best teams in Europe to just three goals each, with a kid who's never even started a PL game. It's a huge risk, a gamble, it might be worth trying, but you can't say for sure it'll make us a better team, it could just as likely turn into the disaster you're so keen to avoid.

I'm also not advocating breaking up the Marney/Jones partnership, although they've played together six times this season and we didn't win any of those games, but I would play Chalobah. Despite Juke looking a handful at times neither he, Barnes nor Sordell have done much damage so I wouldn't play any of them and unleash our three most attacking, creative and skilfull players on Hull, Boyd, Arfield, Chalobah in front of Marney and Jones with Ings up front. A quarter of the season has gone, we need to try something different, no point trying the same old stuff, Ings/Juke, Marney/Jones, 4-4-2, let it go mate, we've tried it, it's put us bottom of the league, time for a change.

I wouldn't be dropping Duff at this stage either, as you've said more than once during the games, he looks perfectly at home at this level, he's going to slip up from time to time, they all do, but I don't see any need to replace him, we can by and large defend, the problem is at the other end of the pitch.

Think a 5-5-1/4-3-3 could work well for us - some extra solidity without the ball but still getting our better players in the attacking third when we have it.

I think sticking Chalobah in there with Jones and Marney, playing Boyd and Arfield wide, pushing up to make the three on attacks with Ings up top seems a decent option to me - certainly we need to try something different.

Changes the role for every single player on the pitch bar the keeper does that. Nah, we stick with 442, see how we get on now we can field our best team for 35+ years and give it a good go.

I cant wait for Saturday.

if we play 442 and get spanked will you change your tune ?

The Keane 4 Duff, thats just what I would do as of now (and only as of now) and its the defence Dyche would have started the Season with had he signed Keane mid Jul rather than end Aug.

The Keane 4 Duff scenario is neither here nor there, its still the best 11 in my lifetime whichever we run with BUT I, MH, would make that change.

I'll give you credit mate, I don't know anyone who can make a load of bollox sound as sensible as you can, except me perhaps.

I love some of the optimism, nevertheless, conceding a hefty amount of goals in last few matches doesn't make me believe Sean has a chance of sorting this out against Hull.
If it's a learning curve, how come lessons weren't learnt after West Ham ? Everton inflicted more damage, then a week to absorb the shock of it all and then Arsenal showed we weren't listening in class.
Duff was good and then bad against the gunners, definatley slow to react at times.
Tiny player wreaks havoc in our box and scores from yet another innocous cross.
Great spirit and lots of willing runners meant we held out for a bit longer than normal.
If that's all we can offer as a threat, then Hull won't be worrying either.
I love Boyd , think he's been a great addition, but without defenders defending and midfielders having to worry about digging them out, we can't begin a worthwhile attack or dominate opponents.

Boyd will be bang up for it and will probably be MOM again but he needs to watch himself, 3/4 bookings already and he only signed on Deadline Day.

So close to a red on Saturday too, several times.

It's the way he plays though, he just steams up to players and sometimes it ends up being 'into' them rather than 'up to' them.

Sooner have that effort than not though.

Hull seem to have fairly significant injury issues at the moment, particularly at the back. Third choice 'keeper expected to start.

No he didn't check with him LS, seems he cut MH out of the link last week. I had to pick him up off the floor and put him back in his seat after he arrived at 14.58 and saw Duff out there on the pitch.

I'm also sure I saw him mouthing what appeared to be the words "Et tu, Brute" in Sean's direction as he walked off the pitch at half-time.

Didnt see a system change.

He told me that, there Sorrrrdell would be in for Arsenal only...that was a one off and understandable giving the opposition.

He has told me it would be Juke back in though, not Barnsey.
