Legal to goad Wenger - Illegal to thump the Van

I must say I was surprised that the FA has suspended Chris Morgan for "violent conduct" to van Persie’s stomach. I assumed it was legal to rough up fancy Dan foreigners who show up English Journeymen with superior football.

After all RvP was knocked out at Blackburn and they said that was ok. Nonetheless Morgan can now enjoy a three game rest after all his exertions at breakneck football. Of course Warnock said he didn't see anything ha ha - who says that the English can't learn from foreign managers. Of course he will have to put up with jokes about "I didn't see owt", in a Yorkshire accent, wherever he goes. Oh the press are so funny with those accents.

Another reason I was surprised was because the charge against Pardew of improper conduct was found "not proved". That’s because of the little known rule that states its ok to goad and rile foreign managers when an English player scores. However Wenger couldn’t goad Pardew when Hoyte scored as the rule only applies to an English manager.

But just when Pardew thought he was coasting home Osei Sankofa’s appeal against dismissal for 'Denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity' was turned down and his suspension increased to two matches - as it was a frivolous appeal. You gotta laugh eh Pardy? Ammers and Addicks two down for the price of one. And you know I have nothing against Charlton or Curbishley, I have always respected them both.

It’s good to see that the thugs and spoilers of the game are being dealt with; and hopefully skilled players can practice the art of football. Only last week Morgan kindly forgave a player who punched his lights out, as Linda Smith used to say "Rugby players don’t fear head injuries, they have no reason to". Maybe that applies to relegation threatened footballers too.
