So its bye bye to two more Chelsea players as Damien Duff signs for Newcastle Utd and Asier Del Horno goes back to Spain to join Valencia.

For me Del Horno won't be missed. He was a liability at left back and I think Wayne Bridge is a far better player.

Damien Duff though is a different story. Good player but never quite had the luck in his time at Chelsea. Two shoulder injuries kept him out in total for four months and when he was fit he was unable to cement a place in the team. But when he did play his attacking wing-play caused panic to all opposition defences and he did score some valuable goals.

Duff's departure could now lead to more appearances for the unlucky Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Mourinho stated the other day that he wanted to make the sqaud leaner and smaller but did also say that he wouldn't want to see players leave that he liked and Duff was one of those players.
