The Channel 4 Italia website is reporting that Chelsea have signed Bruno Alves from Porto for a £24m fee. The 27-year-old centre-half is the replacement for Ricardo Carvalho according to the site, who is now clear to join José Mourinho´s Inter Milan in Serie A.
Alves' father has told the English media that his son is on his way out of Porto.
“By now there are no doubts he will leave Porto. The player is happy now, because he is under contract, but the moment of the great leap has arrived,” he said.
Some claim that Alves is one of Ancelotti´s targets should Carvalho end up leaving for Italy.

But is the report a bit premature?
It also has to be said that the fee seems a tad high!
We do also have Ivanovic and Alex but these aren’t Carvalho-type defenders and Mancienne is thought to still a bit green to take on assume this responsibility regularly.
We await confirmation from the official site.
