Torres and Luiz receive applause at Cobham

New Chelsea signings Fernando Torres and David Luiz received a warm round of applause from the squad during training at Cobham this morning. Torres arrived in London on Monday of course, whilst Luiz flew in yesterday.

As previously reported here, Torres will wear the classic number 9 of Osgood, Dixon and Hasslebaink, whilst Luiz will sport the number 4.

I wonder if they’ve both been told they will have to sing a song of their choice in front of the whole squad and staff in the time honoured tradition of new arrivals?!

This is a suggestion for Liverpool fans, just in case they come here for Torress news!
I like the idea of donating your unwanted Torres shirts to the footballers in Africa. We all saw how little the soccer players had out there during the world cup and I’m sure they would love a Liverpool shirt with Torres on it.
Have a look at this as an example.

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.
