Apology’s for the lack of preview prior to the Wigan game last Sunday, 3 months to the day that Chelsea became the FIRST London club to lift the Champions League trophy on that memorable night in Munich 19th May 2012. I WAS THERE!!
During Bobby Di’s pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon he announced that Ramires has recovered from illness and returns to the squad for tonight’s game against Premier League ‘new-boys,’ Reading at The Bridge.
Marko Marin is still unavailable with a hamstring injury and Bobby Di also indicated that there may be changes to Sunday’s starting line-up.
He said, “You sometimes look at it and think you don’t want to change a winning team but it doesn’t always work like that.
“We will see. I haven’t made my decision yet. I will have to think about it.”
“Ramires is fine, Marin is still out, so apart from his hamstring injury we are okay. It won’t be long, but it might not be before the international break, we will have to see.”
The storm clouds are still hovering over Cobham Halls regarding the futures of Benayoun and Malouda, while reading between the lines, it seems both players will be gone by the end of the month.
Bobby Di said, “At the moment it’s just a selection issue. We have a lot of competition and a lot of players in certain areas. That’s what it is at the moment.
“I tend to speak to all the players. We have conversations and they are Chelsea players and part of the squad at the moment.
“We will have to see, but until the transfer window closes they are with us and they are part of it.”
