Man Utd Preview: Potential for a Classic!

I was in the air returning to London from a short break when Chelsea kicked off against Donetsk on Tuesday night. When I landed and found out the result I wasn’t particularly that surprised but I WAS disappointed in the manner of defeat and how easy Chelsea let Donetsk dominate the game and scarily I read too many Atletico Madrid ‘comparisons.’
Last season at The Bridge, Chelsea led 3-0 against Utd and with Utd’s 12th man (Howard Webb) leading their recovery, awarding Utd two penalties and then Hernandez snatching a point at the death from the jaws of defeat, Utd simply cannot be ignored or underestimated even though they have already suffered two league defeats this season.
When their backs are to the jammed tight to the wall, Utd are simply too dangerous , somewhat like Chelsea and you resist them at your peril, so whether you like it or not, the game is set-up to be a classic and it will be RVP’s first visit back to The Bridge since he scored his hat-trick for Woolwich last season.
Both teams have seen goals flowing in their games so far this season. Chelsea have scored 19 and Utd have scored 21.
Defensively, Chelsea have fared better than Utd by conceding six, compared to Utd’s eleven.
There are two more stats that make me bitterly superstitious and nervous (especially with Halloween only a few days away.)
Chelsea are 100% at home in the league this season and Utd haven’t won at The Bridge in the league since 2002.
