West Ham Preview: Looking for Positives

The Blues travel West to East at lunchtime to take on Sam Allardyce’s West Ham without Sturridge, JT, Super Frank and David Luiz, who is suspended after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season in the dour 0-0 draw against Fulham on Wednesday night.
It’s the 1st day of a new month, Movember (for those who grew their taches for charity) has passed and today we herald in December and hopefully a huge change of fortunes in front of the three white sticks at each end of the pitch attached together that are called ‘goals.’
Chelsea could do with one of them today or a couple after two successive goal-less draws, and trying to be really positive, two clean sheets.
Where will the goals come from?
Di Matteo didn’t care who scored.
He said that on many occasions, but it seems to me that ‘The Portly One’ has put his eggs all in one basket, trying to get the team to play so that Torres can get on with his job and score the goals to justify the £50m price tag Chelsea paid to Liverpool.
If Torres is looking for inspiration for today’s game, then he should be reminded by all concerned that his first goal for Chelsea was against West Ham at The Bridge in April 2011 when Chelsea won 3-0. For the record Super Frank and Malouda (who?!?!... Ed) were the other scorers.
If you are looking for positives to take before the lunch-time kick-off, Chelsea haven’t been beaten at Upton Park since 2003 when West Ham won 1-0.
Since then, Chelsea have won 3-1 (twice), 4-1, 4-0, 1-0 and drawn 1-1.
