WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE........ OR NOT!!

The match atmosphere at Chelsea nowadays is not the same. Not like it was in the 70s, 80s, 90s and even right up to the point when the redevelopment of the ground started to take shape.
I couldnt tell you what the atmosphere against Man Utd was like because I wasn't at the game. I was sunning myself on holiday, but I did watch the game on TV and even then the TV coverage didn't pick up much. But the two subsequent home games against Southampton and Tottenham, well all I can say is that both of the respective away fans made more noise.
It seems to me that the fans in the Matthew Harding stand are left to generate the noise, the Shed End which used to be noisy in the last couple of seasons has now degenerated into a whisper and I won't even talk about the East Stand and the West Stand. Although I will say there are pockets of supporters in the West Stand, especially in the lower tier that try to sing, shout, make noise, create an atmosphere - but they are only pockets. What we need to do is to get back to the good 'old' days when we would sing for up to an hour before the game and through the whole game, regardless of score and performance.
I swear it will not be too long, before we all attend home games wearing morning suits and top hats for the gentlemen and black business suits for the ladies applauding politely and eating prawn sandwiches cut into quarters.
Come on Chelsea fans. Make more noise, it does help the team. You come to watch Chelsea and pay very good money to do so, as least join in and get your monies worth. It is ALL part of being a football supporter. Ask anyone!!!
