Oh The FA are on Another Jolly

Why, Oh Why has the FA arranged and sanctioned a meaningless friendly in the Land of Bulls (and it is a load of bulls) on Wednesday?
Obviously it is for the money. Is the FA that short of the readies that they need to put our top players at risk for the sake of a few quid? Or have the top brass decided that it is time for a jolly - free wine and some paella?
I mean after all its only been a few weeks since the top honchos had some culture in Austria, Poland and Azerbijahn. If they wanted a break, they could have taken leave. We have too! In times where our top managers complain enough already of too many matches, and I am sure our top players do as well albeit amongst their selves, here we go again into Europe on a jaunt to siesta land.
Surely this week it would have been appropriate to give our England players a chance to recharge their batteries and potter about at their respective clubs, especially with the Xmas and New Year matches on the horizon and before that matches are going to start to come fast and thick with CL matchdays five and six, Carling Cup Quarter-Finals, all these snagged in between important Premiership fixtures.
For once our top players do have a little sympathy from me.
At least Chelsea has lots of representation with the likes of King JT, Super Frankie L, Showboat Joey Cole and Wayne I scored the winner against 'The Arse' Bridge in the travelled party and I am sure that Mr Cool, Mr Arrogant Jose has enough on his plate with the best part of his squad this week decimated by World Cup qualifying matches, without the extra worry of four of his senior players playing in really what is an exhibition match.
Well at least this week gives SGE something to do to justify his enormous wage packet. Not bad eh? £4m a year for no more than a dozen games! I did love JMs arrogant view on the nine goal - no defence game - at Three Point Lane on Saturday. 'A football match' he exclaimed, 'More like an Ice Hockey score' and that was before he saw any of the action. God knows his thoughts after he saw the highlights. Sad to hear about the deaths of Keith Weller and of course 'Crazy Horse' Emlyn Hughes. Two great characters and two great footballers.
